Cologne Marathon 2026: Discover the Cathedral City on Foot
On October 4, 2026, Cologne gets moving. At the Cologne Marathon, ambitious running, personal challenges, and the special spirit of the cathedral city come together. Around 25,000 athletes are expected on the course, while numerous spectators lining the streets create genuine Cologne atmosphere. This makes the Cologne Marathon one of the largest running events in Germany.
But you don’t have to run the 42.195 kilometers yourself to experience this special day. Visitors to Cologne can simply join the crowd of spectators, cheer on the runners, and get to know different neighborhoods along the way.
